PRENSA is my contribution to a group project to create a set of kitchen tools. The goal of this project, Scrape, Scoop, Stir, was to develop a set of kitchen tools for a specific user group with a focus on creating a specific dish.
My group met with a Tia who operated a local Pupusaria. We decided to take some of the specific tools they used in their commercial kitchen and refine them for the home cook. Our set includes a slotted spoon, wooden spoon, chef's knife, flat-top spatula, tongs, and citrus press.
My handle design was implemented by my peers and used to inform our team's design direction.
Initial prototypes were 3D printed. Later prototypes incorporated traditional materials.
